Shannon Marie Bohling, nee Alexander, 40 of Valparaiso passed away Monday, November 9, 2009.
She was born on January 26, 1969 in Valparaiso to Floyd and Patricia (Shannon) Alexander. Shannon graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1988 and earned 2 Law Enforcement Associate Degrees from Vincennes University. She had worked for the Delaware State Police and Dispatch for the Valparaiso University Police. Shannon was currently working at Flint Lake Elementary School, Valparaiso in the cafeteria and part time at K-Mart in Valparaiso. She was a member of the Valparaiso Nazarene Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy, G.R.O.W., and assisted with her son's Cub Scout Den and Pack.
On October 29, 2000 in Valparaiso, Shannon married Daryl Bohling who survives along with their son, Hunter Bohling; parents, Floyd and Patricia Alexander of Valparaiso; 2 sisters, Cherie (Barry) Moyar of Mississippi and Sharon Alexander of Valparaiso; mother-in-law, Marie Bohling of Hebron; brother-in-law, Don Bohling of Illinois; sister-in-law, Debbie Bohling of Lowell; and 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13th at 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso with Rev. Gene Tanner officiating.
Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for a Scholarship Fund for Hunter Bohling
