William H Head married Louisa Mathias(Rhodes) Head on September 24, 1867. She was the daughter of John L "Jack" and Charlotte Ann(Medley) Rhodes of St Charles Parish in Marion County. William operated the W. H. Head distillery in Raywick for close to 20 years. It was sold to Emmanuel Edelen after his death and was closed by Prohibition in 1920. William and his wife owned a large farm in Horseshoe Bend of the Rolling Fork River about a mile south of Raywick. Williams brother, Francis Marion Head operated several distilleries in Gethesame, KY and their father Richard Head was the largest distiller in Nelson County at the time of his death in the 1855. William owned over 1500 acres in Raywick, but died without a will and lost much of it.
