Francis E. Frost died peacefully on Oct. 23, 2006, in the presence of his devoted wife of 61 years. He was born Feb. 9, 1926 in Fairbury, Neb. to Harry O. and Emily Schoen Frost. In 1934, the family moved to the Deer Flat area of Nampa and later to Meridian. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1943. After a brief time at the University of Idaho he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to OCS in Fort Benning, Ga. Prior to overseas duty, he married his sweetheart, Luella B. Davison on May 22, 1945 in Boise. Upon his return he remained active in the Army Reserve until retirement in 1976. The last five years of his career included commanding the 6228th USAR school in Boise. Francis was a long time employee of the U.S. Post Office in Meridian.
