Carrie Mae Moffett, 78, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 in Huntsville. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Brooke Funeral Home (formerly Forest Lawn) in Huntsville with the Rev. Elmer Fulp officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery in New Waverly.

Mrs. Moffett was born on July 26, 1926 in Clines Prairie, the daughter of Charles Wesley Gilley and Edith Mae (Davis) Gilley. She graduated from Cold Spring High School.

She married Hollis D. Moffett on Sept. 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1997. They were married for more than 50 years, and she was a member of Little River Baptist Church in Jones Prairie, Texas.

She is survived by three daughters, Holly Middleton and husband, David, Pam Young and husband, Gene, and Grace Hardy and husband, Mike; son, Chuck Moffett; brother, Charles David Gilley and wife, Doris; grandchildren, Clint and Tracy, Ruthie and Billy, Brandi and Jeff, Mandy Lynn, Jimmy, Glen and Gennie, Nikki and Kevin, D.J., Kari Beth, Mandy and Lee and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, Tristin, Karson, Skyler and Corlie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Waverly Public Library for children's books.
