Rose K. Farr
Rose was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Hooper, Neb., to Arthur and Kate (Knuth) Groeteke. She grew up in Hooper, Neb., and moved with her parents to Fremont, Neb., in 1943. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1944 and from Lincoln School of Commerce in 1945. She married Edward Farr on Dec. 16, 1946, in Fremont. The couple lived in Odessa and Seminole, Texas, until moving to Cedar Bluffs in 1952. She was previously employed as a secretary at KFAB Radio Station and at law offices. She was an office manager for the Saunders County Abstract Office. She and her two daughters owned and operated Merf's Place, a gift shop in Cedar Bluffs. She and her husband retired from farming in 1988 and moved to Fremont in 2005.
Seh was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont where she served on the church council, taught Bible school and was a lector. She was a life member of Amarican Legion Auxiliary Post 159 of Cedar Bluffs and served all unit offices, including unit, county, and district president. She was a former leader of American Legion Auxiliary Junior Girls. She was a member of Dodge County Salon 358 of 8 & 40 and served as chapeau and departmental secretary/cassier for two years. She was a past board member of Fremont Area Medical Center. She was a former Girl Scout troup leader and served on Prairie Hills Girl Scout Council. She also voluntered at the Saunders County Historical Society at Wahoo, May Museum, Low Income Ministy and the Dodge County Humane Society in Fremont.
