Rites Friday at Funeral home for Mrs. Carnathan

Services for Mrs. Janie Carnathan of Arlington were held Friday afternoon at Crawford Funeral Home, with Rev. J.W. Lewis officiating. Burial was in hood Cemetery, near Warren. Mrs. Carnathan, who was 87, died early Thursday at her home. She had been ill only a short time.

A native of Alabama, Mrs. Carnathan moved to Tennessee in 1917 and had lived since that time in Fayette and Shelby Counties. She was the widow of J.L. Carnathan, who died in 1937. Mrs. Carnathan was a member of Antioch Methodist Church at Warren.

Surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. Dessie Kezer of River pine, California, Mrs. Eli Cook of Somerville and Mrs. Edna Lindberry of Memphis and a son A.R. Carnathan of Arlington: a sister Mrs. Ada Stafford of Memphis, two brothers, Jim Webb of Corinth Ms, and Jep Webb of Tupelo Ms.; 29 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren.
