Services for Kenneth Richard Tuggle, 72, Eudora, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eudora Methodist Church with the Rev. Cheryl Somers-Ingersol officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Tuggle died Friday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 11, 1918, at Rapid City, S.D. He moved to Lawrence with his family in 1928. He attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
In 1936 he attended Kansas University for one year. He later moved to Missouri and helped to build Camp Crowder.
Mr. Tuggle served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1942 to 1945 during World War II.
He lived four years in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., then moved to Eudora, where he worked in the construction business until 1975.
Mr. Tuggle served as building inspector for the City of Eudora from 1975 to 1981, and as a toll collector for the Kansas Turnpike Authority from 1975 to 1983.
He attended the Eudora United Methodist Church.
He married Alvena L. Bond on June 19, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Dudley Steffan, Versailles, Mo., Raymond Steffen, Mesa, Ariz., Richard Tuggle, Lecompton, and Darryl Steffen and David Tuggle, both of Eudora; two daughters, Sharon Musick, Eudora, and Pam Snively, Maryville, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
