Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial park for Joseph Johnson, 73, a self-employed construction worker, who died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Pastor Richard Kelley of Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Born June 2, 1916 in Vandervoort, Ark, Mr. Johnson had lived in Merced for 26 years. He was a member of the Labor Union Local No. 995 for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Faith Johnson of Merced; a son, David Johnson of Merced; two daughters, Joanne Warness of Merced and Yvonne Servaes of Simi Valley; two sisters, Minnie Cooper of Little Rock, Ark., and Mildred Iannavone of Big Bear; three brothers, John Johnson of Lake Arrowhead, G.C. Johnson of Arcadia and Carl Johnson of Big Bear and eight grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home.
The family would appreciate contributions to the Mercy Hospital Cardiac Unit.
