East Prairie--Albert Boyd Blackwell, 73 years old of near Bardwell, Ky., and formerly of Anniston, died from a heart ailment at 11 a.m. Friday at a hospital in Mayfield, Ky.
Born April 18, 1888, at Providence, Ky., Mr. Blackwell was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Atley Blackwell. He lived in Anniston most of his life and was engaged in house moving. He moved to near Bardwell 19 years ago when he bought a farm there.
On Sept. 10, 1910, he was married to Ollie Showmaker. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, John A. Blackwell of Anniston, Gordon R. Blackwell of East Prairie and Lois E. Blackwell, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Head of Providence and Mrs. Edith Hendrix of Kerby, Ore., two brothers, Eldon Blackwell and Jesse Blackwell, also of Providence; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body has been brought to the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 Sunday afternoon by the Rev. Loren Schorey of Anniston, a Methodist minister. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
