Per Lewis and Clark County death records: His name was Lewis, died at the Masonic Home, widower, born Wales, informant Mrs. Nellie Glenn, buried York Cemetery. Others in the records showing "Buried York Cemetery" were found buried in Canyon Ferry Cemetery.
"Pioneer Dies At Masonic Home. Louis Williams, one of the old time pioneers and placer miners of Montana, died Tuesday evening at the Masonic home at the age of 80 years, after an illness of two weeks. He is survived by two sons, John Williams, postmaster at York, and David Williams of York, and a daughter, Mrs. Glenn of the Imperial rooming house of this city. Funeral arrangements have not as yet been made, awaiting the arrival of his sons from York. One of his last requests was that he be buried beside the grave of his wife in the cemetery at Canyon Ferry. Mr. Williams came to Montana in 1864, engaging first in Placer mining at Virginia City. He came to Helena in 1869. His first affiliation with the Masonic lodge was in Virginia City where he was made a Mason in 1869. Since he has been a member of King Solomon lodge No. 9, A.F.& A.M., of Helena. Until two weeks ago he made his home at (there is a missing sentence in the obit) poultry business and occasionally worked in his placer diggings." Helena Independent, 7/12/1918, page 8
