Funerals For Five Reported in Area Through Today
Funeral services for J.W. Russell, 76, Paris Rt., 5, who died here yesterday following a short illness, have been announced as to be held in Little Rock church tomorrow at 2 p.m.
McEvoy's the funeral establishment in charge, disclosed that the Rev. Haynes Lankford and R.J. Burpoe are to conduct the final rites.
Russell, a native of the county, was a farmer by occupation. He held membership in the Springhill Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lillie Easley to whom he had been married 52 years;
Daughters-Mrs. Lizzie Presson, Miss Sadie Russell; and Mrs. Mary Harris, all of Henry county; and Mrs. Alma Bennett, Detroit, Mich;
Four sons-J.W. Jr., Raleigh, N.C.; Roy, Owosso, Mich; and Chester and Loman both of Detroit;
Also listed by McEvoy's as among his survivors were 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Burial to follow services, will be at Maplewood cemetery.
