Mrs. Steve Cobb, beloved Warthen resident, passed away Wednesday morning, April 2, at Rawlings Sanitarium, following a short illness. Funeral services were held
at 4 o'clock Thursday, April 3, at the Warthen Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Carter, the Rev. C. E. Croft and the Rev. Kenneth Youmans officiating. Burial was in Warthen Cemetery with Mayo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cobb was born in Washington County, the daughter of Sarah Francis Giles May and Henry May. In March 1904, as Ella Will May, she was married to Steve Cobb. She was very active in the Warthen Methodist Church, being choir director, pianist and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She also took an active part in the social and civic life of the community. Survivors include her husband; one son, Cecil Cobb, Warthen, one daughter, Miss Louise Cobb, Macon; one sister, Mrs. J. C. Edenfield, Wadley; one brother, Marvin May, Stillmore. Pall bearers
were W. O. Cummings, Wayne May, Ray Porter, Tom May, Jewell Turner and Hubert May.
