Lillie Mae Tadlock, went to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, Texas, along with her sister; Nola Ethel, after the death of their father; William Rufus Tadlock. Lillie Mae, was adopted by Jasper Williams and Elizabeth Myers in March 1919, and they changed her name to Martha Lee Williams. They allowed Martha to correspond and know her brother and sisters. In 1927, this Williams family moved from around Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas to Weslaco, Hildago County, Texas, (located in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas).
