Funeral services for James C.Gathright will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Dr.Welby Bozeman, Reverend David Boothe and Dr. Joe G. Kite officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.
Mr.Gathright,79,of Alexandria, died Monday, June 6,2005 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Gathright was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. He was a manager of Armour Foods for many years. Mr. Gathright was a veteran for the United States Navy, where he served in the Pacific during World War II. He was an avid golfsman and a wonderful grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clo Gathright; his parents, James and Ida Moore Gathright and his sister, Relda Franks.
Survivors include his sons, Doug Gathright and wife, Lesley of Alexandria and Randy Gathright and wife,Joan of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his brother, Billy Gathright of Porter, Texas; his sisters, Pauline Nelson of Strong, Arkansas and Marcia Remore of Sunrise Beech, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Gathright, Emily Gathright, Jeff Schinker and Ashley Schinker.
Pallbearers will be Russell Turrentine, Billy James, Mike Sherrill, Don Hammons, John Jam s and Lee Stokes.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 8,2005 and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
