EPIDEMIC PROVES FATAL

Death Caused by Influenza Came to Mrs. Mary Bower Today

Mrs. Mary Frances Bower, 64 years old, died at her home west of town on Route 2, Neosho County, Kansas, this morning at 2:30 o'clock of influenza. She had been in poor health for three years and contracted influenza a few days ago.

Her husband, Jacob Bower is seriously ill with the disease. He was unconscious last night and today.

Mrs. Bower was born October, 20, 1964, at Baltimore, Maryland.

She came to Chanute twelve years ago from Canada.

She was a member of the Christian Church.

She leaves her husband and six children, Alvin and Bernard Strack of Humboldt, KS, Howard and James Strack of Kansas City, MO, Miss Bessie Strack of Pueblo, CO, and Earl Strack of this city (Chanute, KS).

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wilson & Johnson Mortuary, with Rev. D.B. Howell in charge. Burial will be in No. 66 Cemetery (Union Valley Cemetery).
