SWEAT > Ronald L. Sweat, age 61 of Macclenny, Florida passed away August 17, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Sweat loved God, his family, farming, fishing and the Georgia Bulldogs. He retired from BellSouth in 1991 but continued working with various contractors. He served in the 146th Signal Battalion of the Florida National Guard and was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He attended First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Joe Lee and Elizabeth M. Tapley Sweat and his brother, Joe McArthur "Mac" Sweat, Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Vicki Barber Sweat; son: Jason (Jennifer) Sweat; daughters: Allison (Will) Elledge and Amanda (Wesley) Nowlen; sister: Virginia (Dave) Pettigrew; mother-in-law: Bonnie Shea Kenyon; sister-in-law: Donna H. Sweat; uncle: Rev. J. Marvin Sweat; 12 grandchildren; many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary, FL. with Pastor Randy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, TODAY August 19, 2008 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary Building fund.
