He was born in Huntingdon, PA on Oct. 19, 1932, the son of Lawrence and Mary (Hoffer) Shoemaker. His father resides at Alexandria R. D. and his mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Edward (Judith) Dipple of Huntingdon R.D. 1 and three grandchildren, Edward, Jason, and Erin Nicole.
He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Heaton of Huntingdon, Lawrence W. Shoemaker Jr. of Huntingdon R.D., Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Donaldson of McVeytown, R.D. and Charles C. Shoemaker of Alexandria R. D. 1.
He was of the Protestant faith. He was self-employed as a well driller in Huntingdon County for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon, the Rev. Thomas W. Owens officiating. Interment will be made in the Donation Cemetery, Huntingdon, R.D. 2.
