Enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Oct.23, 1942 from Dallas, Texas. He went into the Army at the rank of Pvt. He was single, a high school graduate, and worked as a Gas & Oil man in his civilian life.
He was 6ft tall and about 185 lbs

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, at 2 p.m. for James M. Staton, 20, who was killed in a B-26 Marauder Bombing crash near Dodge City, KS. The services will be held at the Baptist church in the Forrest community. Interment will be at Hester Cemetery with Rev. F. E. Coppin officiating.
Staton has born in Forrest and attended school there. Graduate of Wells High School.
