"Migeman Traylor was born in 1791 in [Henry] County, Georgia, one of many children born to William Traylor, Jr., and Esther [possibly "Porter" or "Banks"] of Virginia. Migeman enlisted in the War of 1812 as a private in Captain Wooten's Co. of Infantry from Georgia. He married Lydia Lang, daughter of John Lang, in 1813, in Jasper County, Georgia.

Migeman enlisted again in the Seminole War of 1817-18 and served as a second lieutenant in Wimberly's Regiment, Georgia Militia. He was a farmer and relocated to Randolph County, Alabama, in the late 1840s where he continued to farm.

Migeman and Lydia had eight children: Twins William and Washington, Richard, Elizabeth, Emily, John, Bathsheba, Josephine. They were all farmers, as were their ancestors, arriving from Nouzon, Ardennes, France, to London, then to Virginia in 1662.

Migeman Traylor was about 71 years old when he enlisted as a private in Company B, 10th Regiment, Confederate Cavalry, October 31, 1862, to February 28, 1863, at Rockmills. He died May 8, 1863, and is buried at [Old Shiloh Church] Cemetery, Graham, Randolph County, Alabama.
