OBITUARY:
Robert Ellsworth Nichols, 84, of Poteau died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, in Henryetta, Okla. He was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Tulsa. He was a World War II Army Military Police veteran, a rancher and owner of Nichols Construction, a dozer operator and former employee of a coal-fired electric power plant in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau with burial at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa, Okla., under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Debby Clark of Spiro, Adelia Webb of Hattiesburg and Felicia Crow of Phoenix; a son, Robert Nichols Jr. of Bixby; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
