He was born in Easley, was a lifelong resident of Clinton, and was a son of the late John Paul and Nellie McCauley Leonard.
He was a retired employee of Torrington Bearing Company; was a member of the Campbell Masonic Lodge #44 and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy McCauley of the home; a son, Marc McCauley of Clinton; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Jimmy Sasser of Clinton; grandchildren, Jay and Jennifer Sasser of Clinton, Lindie and Lee Cunningham of Waterloo; a great-grandchild, McCauley Edward Sasser; and several stepbrothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 10, 2004, at Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
