NICOSIA, JAMES VINCENT, age 78, of Troy for 32 years formerly of Madison Heights, died July 16, 2008 at home. James was born in Detroit on January 24, 1930 to the late Carmelo and the late Calogera Nicosia. Beloved husband of Gilda Minnie (Laerzio) Nicosia whom he married November 11, 1950 in Detroit. Loving father of Charlene Duncan (Thomas), Louise Howe (John), Carmelo Nicosia, James Nicosia (Jody) and Mary Daniels. 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Dear brother of Joseph Nicosia (Mary), the late Mary Quaiatto, the late Paul Nicosia, the late Carmela Rotts and the late Anthony Nicosia. James retired in 1988 after 30 years as a tool maker for Budd Automotive in Detroit. He was a member of St, Mary of the Hills Catholic Church in Rochester Hills, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #13950 in Rochester Hills, member of V.F.W. #15023, a member of the B.O.H. Riding Program, was in the U.S.M.C. during the Korean War, and a volunteer for the Manna Soup Kitchen in Detroit. James will be missed by all the lives he touched. Visitation Saturday 5-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-8pm with 7 p.m. Rosary at Price Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road, (bet. Big Beaver & Wattles Roads), Troy 248-689-0700. In state Monday 9am until Mass 10 am at St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, 2675 John R Road (bet. Auburn and Hamlin Roads) Rochester Hills. Entombment White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy. Memorial donations can be made to the Father Solanus Guild or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
