Nicholas had one child out of wedlock with Isabella Winey, William Henry Hetrick. Nicholas was the son of Nicholas Hetrick and Susannah Wertz.
1900: Newport News Aug 23,1900 (also under Perry Valley on Aug 20 1900): Nicholas Hetrick one of the oldest persons of the valley, died at the home of his nephew Alfred Hetrick on last Thursday. Since the death of his mother many years ago he has been the sole occupant of his house. Here, while picking cherries in the early part of the summer he fell from a tree and sustained injuries which were the indirect cause of his death. He was an honest and industrious citizen, though very determined in his own way. Interment was made on Saturday at Wright's graveyard.
