Jeffrey Alan Grindle, 56 years of age, of Athens, Georgia, departed this life unexpectedly in North Carolina on Friday evening, September 16th, 2016.
Alan was born on January 6th, 1960, son of Willie Nation Grindle and the late Billy H. Grindle. Alan attended Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Athens in 1994, he worked as a master mechanic at Tyner Truck and Auto Repair until his time of death. Alan loved to camp and fish in the great outdoors. He passed peacefully under the stars in the Great Smoky Mountains near Cherokee, North Carolina doing what he loved, camping and fishing. Alan was a devoted father to his daughter Ashley Grindle. He loved to dote over her and took her shopping at her favorite thrift stores every Saturday.
Alan was survived by his loving mother, Willie Grindle; three sisters, Brenda Marsh, Ann Baize, and Julie Foster; one brother, Joey Grindle; one daughter, Ashley Grindle; two stepsons Raumsie Gaballa and Youssef Gaballa, and wife Sherry Lowrance; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Grindle, who departed this life on August 13th, 1993.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Home in Athens, Georgia.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Lord and Stephens Funeral Home.
