Joshua was a spirited, happy little boy who enjoyed playing football and baseball with his older brother and friends and loved race cars like his daddy. His mother said her little boy, who loved tae kwon do karate lessons and cuddling with his mom, dad and brother, 14-year-old Zackary, had a zest for life. The grieving mother said their faith in God is keeping the family afloat. She said she believes God has a purpose and that while she may not understand it now, one day she will. For now, the mother said, she knows Joshua is safe in the arms of Jesus. "He loved everybody," Idell Duncan said of her son Joshua. "He brought so much joy into so many people's lives." Left on this earth to cherish his memory are his parents, James H. Duncan and Idell Ortiz Duncan, big brother, Zackary Colby Duncan; all of Centerville; Grandparents, Carl Duncan (Iva), Jac Parris, three uncles, Moses Lopez (Diane), Chris Duncan (Brenda) C.J. Duncan, all of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Julia O. and Jimmy C. Brown. The 7-year-old, a first-grader at Eagle Springs Elementary School, was killed Sunday in his Centerville neighborhood when the yellow toy car with plastic wheels on which he was riding with 12-year-old friend Marcus, who was struck by a speeding automobile, driven by a 19 year old who lived one street from his family.

A special thank you to "Maspeth" for sponsoring Joshua's memorial.
