Camp, Joseph M. --- private February 26, 1863. Roll showing payment of bounty April 20, 1863, shows rank as 1st Corporal. Rolls for July - August 1863, shows rank as private and states he was absent without leave since June 23, 1864. Captured in Walton Co., Ga., near Stone Mountain, Ga., July 23 or 28, 1864, and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Died there of smallpox September 16, 1864. Buried in Grave No. 249, Camp Chase Cemetery.
