NILES - William H. Blystone, 68, of Niles, passed away at 11:09 p.m. Sunday Dec. 19, 2010, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

He was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Red Stone Township, Pa., the son of Kenneth and Effie Utterback Blystone.

He was a 1960 graduate of Cleveland Shaw High School and was employed for 35 years as a relief man, committee man and a sourcing rep in the Fabricating Plant at General Motors in Lordstown before retiring in 2000.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Niles, UAW Local 1714, First Christian's golf and bowling leagues, Hidden Oaks Golf Club, and Tri City Mobile Home Seniors Monday Morning Bowling League. He was also a Niles Youth League baseball and softball coach, Niles band booster member and avid sports fan.

He enjoyed model trains, watching old Western movies, loved fresh vegetables from his garden, spending time with his family, and his favorite time of the year was Christmas.

He will be deeply missed by his mother of Newton Falls; wife, Carol Ault Blystone, whom he married March 14, 1964; son, William H. Blystone Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Cleveland; daughter, Stephanie Hudzik and her husband, Martin of Canal Fulton; a brother, Kenneth Blystone Jr. and his wife, Janice of Silver Springs, Fla.; his three grandchildren, the apple of his eye, Gabrielle and Aaron Blystone, and Samantha Hudzik.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Nancy Champion.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Niles First Christian Church, with the Rev. Cynthia Klingemier officiating, preceded by a 10 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Warren.
