Opal Jacobs Mall passed away in Kerrville, Texas, January 29, 2006.Opal was formerly from Aurora, IL and is the widow of Thomas A. Mall, Sr. of Aurora, IL. Thomas, Opal and their three children, Thomas A. Mall, Jr., Robert A. Mall and Penny A. Mall moved to Texas from Aurora in 1970.Tom and Opal Mall are the original proprietors of Tom Mall's Office Inc., located at 746 S. Lincoln Ave. in Aurora, IL. Together, Tom and Opal opened "The Office" in 1963 to serve good food and provide a "friendly place to meet" for area residents. The restaurant was owned by the Mall family until 1999.A memorial service will be February 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas.Upon arriving in Texas, Opal was active in the Ingram Garden Club and the Hill Country Youth Ranch.
