Thomas Edison Metten, II, 58, of Dunbar, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015.

He was born on June 23, 1957, to the late Thomas Edison and Gladys Metten. Thomas was a painter and owner of American Pride Painting. The past few years he could be seen in his wheelchair walking his dog, Bella, around the City of Dunbar.

He was stubborn and quick tempered, but underneath had a heart of gold and would do most anything for anyone. He was just a man that made many mistakes and had many regrets, just like the rest of us.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Lee Metten; and sister, Darlena Kay Metten.

He is survived by his fiancé, Joyce Fisher of Dunbar; son, Thomas Pingitore and wife, Kara, of Hampton, Va.; daughter, Shawna Pingitore of Hampton, Va.; grandchildren, Sadie and Avery Pingatore; sisters, Peggy Miller of Baton Rouge, La., Patricia Byrd of Charleston, Brenda Sue Ronk and her husband, Donald Lee, of South Charleston, Sandra Forzetting and husband, David, of South Charleston, Pamela Wade and husband, William, of St. Albans and Cheryl Metten Rambin of Port Allen, La.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tues. June 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. on Mon., July 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
