Grace L. Coleman, 86, of Gratis, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Southview Hospital in Dayton. She was born in Lewisburg, Ohio, on May 11, 1917, to Leora and Elsie V. (Lock) Kesler. She was owner of Coleman''s Market in Gratis for 69 years. Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Gratis United Methodist Church since 1928. She was an understanding and generous person. Her hobby was crocheting and knitting house slippers, afghans and baby outfits to give away.
Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Viola Beckett of Camden, Ohio; two sisters, Eva Kesler and Evelyn Donthnier, both of Gratis; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Also deceased are her parents; three sisters, Opal Neanover, Florence Brown and Ethel Martin; and a foster son, James Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Gratis United Methodist Church in Gratis, with Pastor Gary Wood officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis
