~SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF ROXIE WRIGHT LEACH~
You filled my days with rainbow lights,
Fairytales and sweet dream nights,
A kiss to wipe away my tears,
Gingerbread to ease my fears.
You gave the gift of life to me
And then in love, you set me free.
I thank you for your tender care,
For deep warm hugs and being there.
I hope that when you think of me
A part of you, You'll always see.
Mommy actually did bake ginger bread cookies when I was small, it seems I can still smell the ginger flavor. The cookie cutter was shaped like the gingerbread man.
MY BELOVED MOTHER:
Mommy was born in Breathitt County, Ky, daughter of the late Floyd and Allie Campbell Wright. One of eight children and a half sister Ethel, who chose to live with her father Floyd. She also had another half sister, Myrtle who grew up with her mother.
Mommy was made an honorary citizen of Claiborne County in 1982 and no one deserves it more. She was baptised on 12-9-1961.
Although the death date on my Mothers headstone is the 14th, she died on the 13th. My brother had the stone erected and has the date wrong.
I love and miss my dear Mother!
