Army Sgt. Thomas H. Robertson, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Robertson of 2524 Grove st., Blue Island, died of battle wounds in a military hospital on Okinawa eight hours before his parents arrived there Sunday to see him.
His family had been notified he was wounded in Viet Nam on March 25, and the late last month an uncle, Harry Robertson, 12908 Elm st., Blue Island, flew to a Viet Nam military hospital and accompanied Sgt. Robertson to the Okinawa hospital.
Sgt. Robertson was graduated in 1965 from Eisenhower High school in Blue Island and attended Bloom Junior college before entering the army in May, 1967. He went to Viet Nam last May, was wounded last August, and had expected to be returned home and discharged next month.

Services for army Sgt. Thomas H. Robertson, 22, of 2524 Grove st., Blue Island, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in St. Walter's church, 11725 Oakley av. Sgt. Robertson died April 12 in the army hospital on Okinawa from wounds he suffered from enemy gun fire March 25 near Chu Chio, Viet Nam. He had been scheduled to leave Viet Nam two days before he was wounded. A graduate of Eisenhower High school, Blue Island, Sgt. Robertson also attended Bloom Township Junior college. Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Adele Robertson.
