Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Regal. The Rev. Felix Fasching officiated. Burial took place in the St. Anthony Parish Cemetery in Regal.
Clara was born on March 30, 1928, in Lengby, Minn., to Joseph and Mathilda (Strub) Wolbeck. She married Edwin Hiltner on April 24, 1946, in New Munich, Minn. They farmed in the St. Rose and Albany areas before moving to a turkey farm in Georgeville, where they lived until 1979. They moved to Hawick and she was employed by E.B.O. Farms until retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Regal and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed being with her family, fishing, playing cards, and putting puzzles together.
Clara is survived by her husband, Edwin of Hawick; sons, Jim (Jeannie) of Eden Valley, Jerome (Anna) of Wadena, Sylvester (Linda) of Belgrade, David (Alice) of Hawick, and Gary (Sara) of Eden Valley; daughters, Marlene (Ken) Burg of New York Mills, Bernice (Marten) VanDorsten of Hawick, and daughter-in-law, Helen Hiltner of Paynesville; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence (Ludwina) Wolbeck of Grey Eagle, Joseph Wolbeck Jr. of Greenwald, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Linus on Nov. 30, 1985; three grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wolbeck.
