Floyd served as a Captain, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on July 12, 1941, prior to the war, in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Actor and also as Single, without dependents.

He was married sometime after his enlistment to Mary Jane Lyng.

Floyd died in the "Line Of Duty" from an automobile accident. His wife was also killed in the same accident with him during the war.

Floyd was rushing his wife, Mrs. Olson who was in labor, to a hospital. They were hit by a train and Floyd was killed instantly. Mrs. Olson and the baby survived until they got to the hospital where they later both died.
