Ralph served as a Technician Fifth Grade, 36th Engineers, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 217 Henry Avenue, Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia on April 10, 1930. He later resided on Roaring Creek, Randolph County, West Virginia in 1940.
