Son of Charles Edward and Myrtle E. Lowe Brittingham.
Private Brittingham lived in Laurel, Delaware and served as a Private with Company F, 319th Regiment, 80th Division of the Third Army during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on June 23, 1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.
He was "Killed In Action" of shrapnel wounds to the head during the battle of Luxembourg during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
