|Death: ||Jul. 11, 1864|
Civil War Union Navy Sailor. He was a Union prisoner of war at the infamous Andersonville prison camp. He was part of a group, collectively known as "Mosby's Raiders" and led by William "Mosby" Collins, that beat, stole from, murdered and terrorized fellow Union prisoners before they revolted. In a trial conducted by the prisoners, and endorsed by Prison commander Captain Henry Wirtz, the six "Raiders" were found guilty, and hanged. Their remains were interred away from the rest of the Union soldiers who died at the prison.
