KALISPELL - David Jonathan Butcher Ampudia, 24, who was raised in Big Fork and Columbia Falls, and attended the University of Great Falls on a wrestling scholarship, and who enjoyed mountain biking, rafting, snowboarding and hanging with his many friends, died as the result of a car crash Sunday near Kalispell. Also killed in the collision was his girlfriend, Shayla Marie Dunlap.
A joint celebration of life will be held for David and Shayla at 11 a.m. Friday at New Covenant Church in Kalispell with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls. A potluck reception will immediately follow at the Babe Ruth baseball fields on Talbot Road in Columbia Falls.
Johnson–Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his parents, Peter and Claudia Ampudia, of Whitefish; brothers Peter Christopher and Ryan Anthony; maternal grandfather, Harold Butcher; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Ampudia.
