"...Pvt. Co. B, 7th South Carolina Cavy., Feb. 22, 1862. POW at Dabney's Ferry, May 27, 1864. Cadet CSA, Dec. 28, 1864. Acting ADC to H.P. Jones's Bn. Arty., Jan. 2, 1865. Postwar lawyer and secretary of Board of Trustees, Univ. of South Carolina. m. Eliza Maxwell Longstreet, 1875. D. Columbia, January 5, 1883, from effects of accidental gunshot wound suffered on a hunting trip. bur. Trinity Churchyard."
