Some Rentfrows dropped the "w" from their name. Elizabeth and Eli used the "w" in their name; however, this newer stone did not have the "w." The Rentfro Cemetery in Shumway, IL has both Rentfro and Rentfrow families buried there.
Elizabeth had previously been married to Daniel Brewer and was living in Hickman County Tennessee. (Lewis County Tennessee split from Hickman County in 1843). The 1850 census lists Elizabeth living with Eli and her 5 daughters (Lucinda, Susan, Elizabeth, Catherine and Mary C), 4 of his children and their two sons, Eli (Jr.) and Daniel Newton (Tuck).
