Mr. Maddox passed away Oct. 17 at his vacation residence in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Active pallbearers will be James Maddox, LeRoy Strickland, Mark Whigham, Keith Whigham, Curt Mills and Dalton Whigham.
Mr. Maddox was born on January 3, 1932, in Cairo, to the late Lee Roy and Clara Lou Whigham Maddox. On March 17, 1956, he married Sue Foister Maddox, who survives.
Mr. Maddox was a bridge and highway contractor and the founder of Southern Concrete Construction Company. He also served in the Albany Rotary Club and the Georgia Concrete and Products Association.
Mr. Maddox was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he earned a Combat Infantryman Badge and a Purple Heart.
He was a dedicated member of Eastside Baptist Church.
