Death: Jul. 17, 1971
New York County (Manhattan)
New York, USA

James was born in Jersey City at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in 1959. He was an only child raised solely by his mother Ann at 76 Romaine Avenue in Jersey City where he lived the bulk of his short life. James was a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish where he was baptized, made his First Communion, and where his funeral was held in July 1971. He attended OLMC School from 1st thru 6th grades where he showed an amazing talent for drawing, but was mostly absent during his final two years due to health issues revolving around leukemia. One of the few instances where he actually was able to come to school was during our 6th grade class trip to Allaire State Park in NJ. James was a very likable, outgoing kid with a great sense of humor. On July 17, 1971 James died in St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC from the leukemia he had battled for a couple of years. He was buried in the suit he would have worn that following school year to make his Confirmation. Wrapped around his hands which were folded in prayer across his torso were the red glass rosary beads he would have received to commemorate his confirmation ceremony. Gone but not forgotten by his classmate...

I'll never forget the fun we had in Mt. Carmel. I remember some of our school yard antics like they happened yesterday. RIP...
