Diggdon, Margaret Florence (Peggy) age 83 of Arichat, died February 23rd in Strait Richmond Hospital. Born in Grand Anse she was a daughter of the late Hughie and Catherine (MacIntosh) MacDonald. She was employed for over 25 years with the former Richmond Fisheries. She was a member of the Arichat New Horizons Senior Citizen's Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47, Grand Anse. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Perry) Babin, West Arichat, two sons; Billy (Martha) West Arichat and Glenn (Jeanette) of Middle West Pubnico, son in law Neil (Yolande) Smith, Poulamon, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, brother and best friend John of Westmount and 4 nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley, two daughters; Marlene and Sheila, son Robert in infancy and a grandson Brian who was the light of her life, brother Dan Alec and sister in law Jessie, a sister Barbara, a sister in law Hattie and a nephew. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral Service will be Monday at 11am from St. John Anglican Church, Arichat with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care or a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Collins, Dr. Pluto and all the staff at the Strait Richmond Hospital who went above and beyond their role to keep our mother comfortable during her time there. Margaret was definitely a people person who enjoyed keeping in touch with her friends and family. Whether on the phone or over a cup of tea, she kept us all entertained with her witty remarks and her genuine concern of others. A great sense of humor and a great love of family are things that come to mind when remembering Mom. She leaves behind a loving family who will never forget her and will always remember her love.

Billy, Bev, Glenn and Families; So very sad to hear of your mom's passing, she was truly a wonderful lady with warmth that she joyfully shared with friends. I remember with fond memories when I was a young teenager; I would stay at her home with my beautiful friend Marlene; both Maggie and Stan were very good to me - it was my second home! We shared some great times, Billy, you will remember. I would always go to visit Maggie when I would go home to CB to see my mother, Isabel. If Maggie heard I was coming home, she would call me to make sure I went to see her. I am very sad but know that she is in a good place now. Going home won't be the same. God Bless All of You....

Condolence From: boyd babin
I would like to extend my dearest and deepest condolences to my friends, the family of 'Peggy'.It is in her children's integrity and ongoing genuine love and concern for others, that we see 'Peggy's true maternal values. They are always first in line, willing with determination and compassion,to go out of the norm to help others. This also is reflected in her grandchildren,of which she was so proud. Many years ago,at the passing of her husband Stanley, they did so holding hands. Now they are once again joining hands in the presence of god. That wait for 'Peggy 'may have seemed long, but was just a blink in time, the same which awaits each one of us.I'm sure she was greeted with open arms by daughter 'Marlene' and grandson 'Brian'.Our greatest wish is that their souls, and the souls of all our dearly departed ''REST IN PEACE''.I will always remember her smile and friendly greeting''And how are you today?''Her journey is now complete.Good luck and best wishes...........LISA and BOYD.

Condolence From: Harold Digdon and family
Hi, so sorry for your loss. We only met your mother once when we drove Marlene, I believe it was , from Canso , home in Clayton Digdon's 69 Chrysler. That would be around July 27, 1970 on our honeymoon. I still remember how much we felt at home.I am the fire pump mechanic for Dept. of Natural Resources and every year we pick up all the pumps from Sydney to Yarmouth. Every time I go to St. Peters to pick up pumps and I pass the sign that says Arichat, I always remember you people. Again, our deepest sympathy . PS. Sam Digdon was my grandfather, Harold and family.

To the family, friends & relatives of Margaret: It is with sadness that I heard about Margaret's death. She was very dear to me as I have worked with her at Booths Fisheries and at noon she would come and have dinner home. She was really friendly and kind. You people have lost a great Mother and she was a people person. I thank God that I had the privilege of knowing her, I have learned a lot from her. I feel richer for having met her. Keep your courage.... She is now in a better place. Marie-Louise & Lubin
