The Chronicle Herald. Thursday September 4, 2008. CORMIER, Marie Adeline "Lena" - 89, Foyer Pere Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the guest home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 3, 1919, in Little Anse, she was a daughter of the late Jacques "Jimmy Joe" and Melina Samson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Lena was a very hardworking woman who enjoyed music and loved to travel. She will always be remembered for her great faith in the Lord and her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes shone with delight and a beautiful smile during visits from family and friends, and her arms were always ready with an embrace and a kiss. She was definitely a role model to all her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph du Moine and the church choir, was a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of le Club Nouveau Horizon, the prayer group of St. Joseph du Moine and Dames de Saint Anne. Lena is survived by her loving children, Elaine (Mike) Cormier, Margaree; Wayne (Antje) Cormier, Parry Sound, Ont.; Claudette (Joseph) LeBlanc, Cheticamp; Harold (Therese) Cormier, Brampton, Ont.; Alphonse (Germaine) Cormier, Huntsville, Ont.; Ella (Donald) Doucet, Halifax; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews whom she truly adored. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; grandson, Darryl; brothers, Peter, Joe; sisters, Alma, Clara, Sara Jane. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Cheticamp Funeral Home. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Church, St. Joseph du Moine, Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Pere Fiset Guest Home.
