Otelia Dora Herbold, 103, of 1500 32nd St. S., a retired kitchen supervisor at the Montana School for the deaf and the Blind, died of natural causes June 17 at a local nursing home.
Her memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.
Survivors include grandchildren Rick Catron, and his wife, Terri, of Lewistown, Mont., Doug Catron and his wife Stephanie, of Sun River, Mont., and Dennis Catron and his wife, Judy, of Indianapolis, Inc., a son-in-law, Bob Catron of Lewistown; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Herbold, in 1985, and a daughter, Victoria Catron.
Otelia was born Dec. 13, 1901, in Black Eagle, Mont. She grew up and attended schools in Boulder, Mont.
She married Victor Herbold in 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. They farmed at Benchland and she later worked for the Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind for 10 years, retiring in 1960.
She was a member of the Montana Association of the Deaf, Great Falls Club for the Deaf, and was a longtime member of Christ's Lutheran Church for the Deaf. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and visiting with friends.
