Nelson served as a First Sergeant in the 102nd Medical Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 287 Main W., Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the New York Army National Guard on October 15, 1940, prior to the war, in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being employed as a sheet metal worker and also as Married.

He was "Killed In Action" on Siapan during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He was first interred overseas and later re-interred here.
