HENRY YEARIAN PASSES AWAY
Leadore, Sept. 1. -- (Special to the Herald) -- Henry T. Yearian was laid to rest Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by the side of his beloved wife, Mary Yearian, who preceded him into that land of peaceful haven some short two months and a half ago.
Henry T. Yearian was born on Aug. 29th, 1853 at ……., Ill. He died August 29th 1924, at Payette, Idaho, at the age of 71 years, having lived the greater part of his life in Idaho, and in the upper valley of the Lemhi.
With his daughter, Mrs. Virgil Stewart and family, he had gone but a week ago last Tuesday morning to Payette, Idaho, to spend the winter with his son, George Yearian and family. He was in the best of health and spirits, on leaving. The party traveled by car reaching their destination Thursday. Friday, the old gentleman was in the home garage watching a grandson, do some necessary work on the car. Mrs. Yearian coming to the door a little later saw the old gentleman crumpled on the floor, the death angel having come so easily and quietly that the grandson working on the opposite side of the car had been unaware of his shadowy passing. The sad cortege immediately left by train for Leadore, that the husband might be laid in the family burying ground at Junction, by the beloved wife, buried there such a short time ago. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Stewart accompanied the body back. George Yearian, a son, and Mrs. Robert Stewart, a daughter, were unable to be present at the funeral. At Leadore, Mrs. Virgil Stewart, Mrs. Claude Benson, daughters, and Joseph Yearian, the other son, saw their father tenderly laid to rest.
Rev. C.A. Hawley of Salmon, spoke the last words of consolation, and burial was from the church at Junction, undertaker White directing. The casket was banked with beautiful floral tributes, but the tribute paid the departed by Rev. Hawley was even more beautiful, as he spoke feelingly of the pioneer peopling of this country, of the steadfast character of the departed, fitting proof of which was manifested in the tear dimmed eyes of old neighbors and friends come to say a last farewell, and of the beautiful scriptural injunction, "But now they desire a better country .. * * Wherefore, God is not ashamed to be their God."
Note: Idaho Death Records Index lists him as being born on 28 Aug 1953(?) d. 29 Aug 1924 in Payette, Cert# 46866
