Robert Bascum Blankenship

Birth: Aug. 10, 1844
Yancey County
North Carolina, USA
Death: Jan. 26, 1929
Plains
Sumter County
Georgia, USA

Robert took part in the Great Locomotive Chase during the Civil War. He later lost his leg in battle in Mississippi.

Although the last name is spelled "Blankinship" on his tombstone, all of his family seem to have spelled it "Blankenship." Therefore, I choose to leave this spelling in this memorial.
