Paul Graehl (Buzz) joined his wife of 61 years on April 14, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He died from complications related to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born on Sept. 5, 1925 to Lorenzo W. and Alice B. Graehl. At an early age, Dad discovered one of the loves of his life..airplanes! He built many model airplanes and yearned to be a pilot. Later he met another love of his life, his sweet Meg! They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Another love of his life were the seven children that blessed this union. Dad loved his family and enjoyed Sundays with all his family gathered around. Dad graduated from South High and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II as an aerial flight navigator. His service took him completely around the world where he met many wonderful people. He worked so hard to provide for his family. Jobs included watch repair, Hill Air Force Base, Sperry/Univac, Medlab and Zinetics. He retired at 75 years of age. Dad's other love was his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the Gospel and served in two bishoprics, High Priest Group Leader and many other callings, including the baptistry at the Jordan River Temple. We will miss his homemade root beer, balsa wood airplanes, his teasing and his toothless grin. We will also miss his loving support and care for our well being.

He is survived by his children; Tom (Marie), Mark (Laraine), Sally, David (Angie), Libbie (Mike), Karen (Glen), Jim (Jessica), 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack and his eternal sweetheart, Marilyn.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 12:00 at Cottonwood Heights 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 7075 South 2245 East, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Friends and Family may visit Friday, April 18, 2008 from 6-8 at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, from 12:30 to 2:00 prior to Services at the Church.

Note: On his maternal side, Alvin was the son of Alice B. (Cantonwine) Graehl, the grandson of John D. & Addie (Guire) Cantonwine, the great-grandson of Jacob & Christina (Dilling) Cantonwine, and the great-great-grandson of Charles & Mary Magdalena (Scholl) Cantonwine.

Charles, the patriarch of the Cantonwine family, immigrated to America from Prussia in 1806, arriving in Philadelphia, Penn., aboard the ship Orlando. The ship's passenger list shows "Chr. Kuntentwine, single man." The name Kuntentwine later evolved to Cantonwine, and Charles appears to be the only surnamed Kuntentwine/Cantonwine to immigrate to America. Eight or so years after his arrival in Philadelphia, in about 1814, Charles married Mary Magdalena Scholl, daughter of Charles Jacob & Margaret (Fuhr) Scholl, in Bedford county, Pennsylvania.
