Major league baseball catcher, 1950-1952, 1955-56 and 1958-62. Served in the Korean War in 1953-54. He played for the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Athletics, Detroit Tigers and New York Mets. He batted and threw right-handed. He was the father of major league coach Dom Chiti.

After his baseball career, Harry worked as a district manager in movie distribution for Columbia Pictures. He moved to Bartlett, Tennessee and served as a Shelby County Deputy Sheriff in Memphis. He also served as a courtroom bailiff in Shelby County Criminal Courts.
